By registering for Community Cleanup, you can select the date, time and area that is most convenient for you and/or your group. Cleanups can take place in a park or trail, or along greenspaces and roadways. Register today to receive your customized Community Cleanup package.


Group Information


Cleanup Supplies

Cleanup kits consist of the following items: Yellow garbage bags, clear recycling bags, disposable gloves, graffiti removal wipes, safety goggles and safety information.

Additional supplies, such as litter picking sticks and safety vests can be requested and are available by pickup only.


Litter-Picking Sticks and Vests

Please note:

  • Litter-picking sticks and safety vests are property of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.
  • Litter-picking sticks and safety vests will be signed out on a first-come, first-served basis, and must be returned to the Syncrude Athletic Park Clubhouse (101 Cartier Road) within two weeks of your scheduled cleanup event.
  • Group leaders agree to return all litter-picking sticks and safety vests in the same condition that they are provided, beyond normal wear and tear.
  • Group leaders understand that there is no charge for the use of the litter-picking sticks and safety vests. However, in the event that they are not returned, the group understands that there may be a $25 replacement fee per unit.

First floor, 9909 Franklin Avenue: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Available upon staff availability. Not available for picking sticks and safety vests.

Volunteer Waiver

I hereby waive any claim which I may have or might acquire against the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, its employees, agents, or contractors, as a result of any injury, loss or damage to any person or property, where that claim arises out of or is in any way connected with my participation in a Community Cleanup. Furthermore, I agree to indemnify and save harmless the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo from and against all claims made or actions initiated against it, and all resulting losses, damages, expenses and liabilities, arising out of my participation a Community Cleanup program.
