Adopt-A-Park Application

Beautify Your Community!

Adopt a greenspace within a cul-de-sac, public utility lane, or in a park and help beautify your neighbourhood for all to enjoy! The Adopt-A-Park program requires a commitment of regular, general maintenance in the adopted area from May to September. Working collaboratively with the RMWB Parks division, volunteers are encouraged to plant a garden, pick up litter, pull out weeds, and/or install ornamental decorations. Additional horticultural support can also be provided to help beautify the adopted the area.

Public Recognition

Groups volunteering with the Adopt-A-Park program may be recognized on program signage located within the adopted area. The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo reserves the right to refuse or revise acronyms of group names when preparing signage.


The main contact person will:

  • Act as the liaison between the volunteer group and the Parks Department
  • Be responsible for coordinating the group’s Adopt-A-Park activities
  • Inform the Parks Department of any changes to contact information
  • Report hazardous items and areas of concern to the Parks Department
  • Ensure all volunteers stay clear of hazardous material, construction sites, heavy traffic and signed work areas

Volunteer Waiver

I hereby waive any claim which I may have or might acquire against the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, its employees, agents, or contractors, as a result of any injury, loss or damage to any person or property, where that claim arises out of or is in any way connected with my participation in the Adopt-A-Park program. Furthermore, I agree to indemnify and save harmless the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo from and against all claims made or actions initiated against it, and all resulting losses, damages, expenses and liabilities, arising out of my participation in the Adopt-A-Park program.
